Marketing & Communications Associate

Position Summary:

NQAPIA is seeking a Part-time Marketing and Communications Associate who can bring our stories to life across audiences and mediums, primarily via graphic design and marketing work. In this newly created role, the Communications Associate will be responsible for graphic design that will be used across our external-facing communications (social media, newsletters, etc.) They will create content for both long-term programming and project needs as well as rapid-response needs. Additional responsibilities will include: copywriting for social media and listserv emails, managing internal content calendar, regular social media posting and engagement, analytics reporting, and capturing content at programs as deemed appropriate. This role reports to the Manager of Communications & Development, and works closely with the Program team. This is a fully remote (US based) position with partial benefits (sick, vacation time, paid holidays) and a pre-arranged but flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Graphic design and creation, via Canva; both long-term projects and rapid response needs

  • Generate, edit, publish, share content daily

  • Respond to followers in a timely and consistent manner

  • Copywrite both social media and listserv emails

  • Manage internal communications content calendar

  • Running, reviewing and sharing basic analytics reports

  • As needed: capturing content at virtual events; managing organization photo database

Qualifications:

  • Expertise with graphic design, superior skills with Canva

  • Expertise with social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook & LinkedIn, strong understanding of best practices in social media engagement

  • Excellent written communications skills through a variety of channels including email, social media and blogs

  • Experience executing communications strategies and campaign plans

  • Attention to detail and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

  • An open-minded approach and willingness to continually learn new technologies, strategies, and tactics related to the rapidly changing fields of strategic communications and digital organizing

  • Understanding and ability to apply the intersectional racial, gender, and economic justice lenses that are required to communicate successfully in our diverse communities

Preferred Experience:

  • Media production skills and video editing experience

  • Ability to track, report, and respond to digital metrics

  • Knowledge of database systems, particularly NeonOne

​

Position Status:

Non-exempt, hourly; (15-20 hours/week)

$24/hour, partial benefits (sick time, vacation time, paid holidays)

This is a fully remote position
